On Friday, July 6, the Institute of Contemporary Art/Boston launches “ICA First Fridays,” a series of evening art events held on the first Friday of the month from 5-10 p.m.
Visitors to ICA First Fridays can enjoy a range of arts programming, including live performances, guest DJs, gallery talks, tours, and more, in a lively evening atmosphere.
The ICA’s Water CafĂ© will offer a small-plates menu and full bar, including specialty cocktails inspired by the museum’s current exhibitions.
Each Friday event will feature a different theme related to the museum’s exhibitions, performances, or other happenings around Boston.
The ICA launches ICA First Fridays on July 6 with “Art Stars,” a star-themed celebration highlighting the museum’s exhibition of glass sculptures by Josiah McElheny. Upcoming ICA First Fridays include:
On Friday, August 3, “Brazilian Street Party” celebrates the opening of a Brazilian street art exhibition with a waterfront dance party.
Friday, September 7, “Back to School: Contemporary Art 101″ will feature a relaxed, curator-led tour of the ICA collection introducing participants to today’s emerging artists and art world trends.
Tickets for ICA First Fridays are $15 and include gallery admission; a glass of wine, beer, or soft drink; and all scheduled programming for the evening. ICA First Fridays are free for ICA members. Must be 21+.
